My plate shows a view of Castle Beach in Falmouth, a sanctuary place where I go. I’ve been going there all my life, as a child I’d be packed up with my brothers for a day at the beach, with boiled eggs and things, and we’d get the train from Penryn. I suffer with anxiety very badly and the beach is a place I can breathe and stop everything going around in my head. I run a craft group at Penryn library to tackle anxiety, for people to relax and talk about what’s going on their lives. We have lots of activities around mediation.
I’ve lived in Penryn my whole life. The community is great, you walk down the street, people say hello and chatter and ask how you are. I’m very proud of the town, I’m involved in lots of groups, it’s a really supportive place.
