Hello!
I’m loving my new studio in the recently refurbished School Room at Art Centre Penryn. It has wonderfully calming northern light, and space for the kiln and all my tools and paraphernalia. It’s located right in the heart of Penryn close to the clock tower and I’m lucky to have a great bunch of artists – painters, makers, sculptors and a photographer – as my studio neighbours.
Open Day: Art Centre Penryn, Sat 18th October, 11am – 4pm
Come along to the recently renovated and refurbished School Room, see the new community art room, find out about exciting courses on offer, enjoy some free tea and cake and visit all the artists in their studios upstairs. There will be work in progress to see as well as things to buy.

FOREST, Tremenheere Gallery, Penzance, 13 – 23 Nov, 2025, 10am – 4pm, Free entry
An exhibition of paintings by Karen McEndoo, Jan Phethean, Jill Eisele and Kathy Nicholls, jewellery by Sarah Drew and Donna Burns and ceramics by Linda Styles and Katie Bunnell, inspired by forests.
“In fact, the trees are murmuring under your feet,
a buried empathy; you tread it.
High over your head,
the canopy sieves light; a conversation
you lip-read…”
From “Forest” by Carol Ann Dufy, 2019
Things are in progress for Forest: new animal figures, abstract ceramic wall pieces and some painted sticks that I like to make while ceramic pieces are percolating, both physically and mentally in the background. The animals are currently safely, I hope in the hands of the kiln gods. In the meantime Terra Mater Art member, Sarah Davies has used the sticks for this great poster for the show. Thanks Sarah!

Project update: Women of Cornwall – End of phase 1
Women of Cornwall is a collaborative project I am working on with Art Centre Penryn. It will create a new collection of 50 handmade ceramic plates featuring women of Cornwall for display in the new Art Centre. Last year’s public call out for women to include in the project resulted in an incredible 237 nominations and after invaluable consultation with our advisory group, Art Centre Penryn announced the final 50 inspirational women in July. We are now fundraising for the next stage which will involve a group of around 25 fine and ceramic artists hand painting plates! You can find out more about the project and see all of the women nominated including the final 50 here www.artcentrepenryn.org/womenofcornwall

Thanks for reading and I hope you can make it along to one of these exciting autumn events!
